It’s easier to ride my 79 without hands, but, more comfy to ride the Expert Pro. But, there is something I like about the smaller 18.5″ top tube – it always feels like it’s under you. A few posts up there is a link to the new Mongoose bikes that are supposed to be as good mongoose mountain bicycles as anyone else’s and are not walgoose editions. I did some digging on another site and found that by 1983 Mongoose frames were being built in Taiwan. I feel that bad now with mine being made there too.

Given the concept is to sell a budget-friendly bike to a (likely) novice mountain biker, the cost of the Tyax, in my opinion, is quite excessive for the market. The Mongoose 700c Elroy Adventure bike features a lightweight frame and a capable adventure geometry that makes it the perfect choice for exploring any terrain. The only thing limiting your riding options will be your imagination and willingness to explore. As I mentioned earlier, Mongoose bikes used to be the top of the class of budget bikes. Now, they might be competing for second or even third place in that sphere. However, if we’re going to compare the price of the bikes to the quality, we’ll have to look at both the budget models and the higher-end models to get a realistic picture of what’s going on.
The first ever purpose-built carbon gravel bike, made major waves when it was launched, winn… The key part is to be gentle with the bike; don’t jump it off curbs, etc. and it’s more likely to last. My guess is that the mongoose hybrid bike weak point will be the spokes breaking in the wheels, but a bike shop could handle the replacement.
